Billiken has long been loved as the lucky symbol of Osaka’s Shinsekai. His unmistakable form is now a serious lure built to draw fish to the surface.

Starting from a wooden prototype hand-carved by deps founder Kazumasa Okumura, playful spirit and true fishing performance were distilled into one lure.

KAZUMASA OKUMURA TURNED BILLIKEN INTO A SURFACE WEAPON.

The idea was simple: bring even more energy to Billiken ahead of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai. Kazumasa Okumura of deps immediately began carving wood by hand and shaped the first prototype.

A powerful wake from the oversized lip, irregular movement and sound from the single joint, and claw-shaped feet that fold air into the water. Okumura’s lure-building philosophy runs through every charming detail, refined through repeated tests into a topwater lure that truly calls fish up.
